Season 1 – Episode 10: Shoe Tuesday
Updated: Jun 3, 2022
Hello All,
I hope everything is well?
Welcome to my new segment for the blog! Shoe Tuesdays once at the end of each month on Tuesdays (of course), I will feature a shoe and a review of the shoe. I will rate the Shoes with points 1-5 (1 being the lowest 5 being the highest) The shoes will also be rated comfort, quality, pricing, and sizing and other things I might need to say about the shoes.
Now that you have the background of the new segment of the blog lets talk about my all time favorite shoe designer Christian Louboutin. Let’s just pause for a few a seconds and appreciate him not only as an artist but as a person because without him the world of luxury accessories probably wouldn’t be what it is now. (long, very long pause) He creates art, not just art that you can wear but it is art that is featured all over world in museums, magazines, documentary’s and of course documented by personal style bloggers all over the world. Ok now you know my obsession with all things Christian Louboutin lets get straight to the review
Brand: Christian Louboutin
Shoe Name: Pigalle Follies 100mm
Color: Opaline (However since this is a wonderful tiffany blue color I would highly suggest to get the same shoe style but just in a better color that can be worn all the time like black or nude.)
Sizing: 4/5 To those of you who do wear designer shoes then you definitely know that any designer shoe runs small. But in this particular style, designer and material I got my true US size 10 but that converts to Louboutin sizing 41. However I do feel that I should have went a half size up to a 41.5, the patent leather for Christian Louboutin shoes tend to take a while to break in. I would suggest any of his pointed toe pumps or in the patent material to go up half a size because then you can add shoe pads or inserts.
Comfort: 3/5 These are not the most comfortable at all but after about 20 minutes your feet become numb (or dying) the pain is definitely something you will get used to.
Quality: 5/5 These wonderful shoes are made in Italy, every single detail and the shoe itself is absolutely stunning and it will definitely hold up for years to come. (As well I did not get my soles protected I feel there is no need because I like the look of designer shoes wear and tear it lets me know that I’m getting my money’s worth)
Retail Price: $675 prices varies due to different styles and material finishes. (This is the starting price for his shoes)
Where to Buy: I purchased my pair from the Christian Louboutin Boutique in Nordstrom on Michigan Ave in Chicago. However you can purchase them from multiple places which includes his local boutiques, Barney’s New York, Saks Fifth Ave, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman. You also can get them from a variety of websites including his us.christianlouboutin.com but however unless you know your sizing in his shoes I would highly suggest that you always go to a verified store or boutique to try on and purchase because different styles run at different sizes and getting them online might be a little tricky.
Conclusion: Overall I would recommend this shoe and the shoe style due it being classy and sexy at the same time. However as stated before I would recommend getting a color that can be worn all the times especially since the price tag is a tad steep. Lets all make sure we get our money’s worth with luxury items. I hope this was helpful to all wanted to know about the shoes and the brand itself. If I missed anything in this review feel free to comment and let me know what you think of his shoes.
Until Next Time
XOXO
Teri Michele
