So I am a few days late but fashion week has kicked offed! My biggest dream is to attend fashion week in London and New York. However the problem or I should say the question is why is fashion week not for plus size women to? Is it because the designers don’t think we will look good in their clothes? is it because they don’t want to be associated with a women over a size 12? or is it because they simply don’t know how to dress us?
If this is the case then I feel that these brands and designers should really seize the opportunities that the plus size industry has to offer. I mean it is a multi billion dollar industry as well, why not combine everything and make the industry better and accessible to not only the plus size industry but to everyone who love fashion.
I feel this is a huge problem in the industry how we are all separated when we all like the same things and yet we can’t seem to see the whole picture and come together. However if you haven’t seen Christian Siriano’s 2017 collection go take a look at it! He casted a few plus size models in his runway show, not only is the collection fun, flirty, and sexy he created pieces that every women at any size can wear and I love that about all of his designs! If you haven’t check him out, he is a great designer for our evolving times.
I hope that the industry can change sooner rather than later, because there is too much potential that is currently being missed. Slow and steady wins the race and let us hope the force guides us.
Until Next Time
P.S: Please bare with me for I am in the process of finding a consistent photographer to keep up with the blog photos. If you know any one in the Chicago area send them my way!
